Are you an experienced Affordable Housing Property Manager looking for the opportunity to lead a brand-new community from the ground up?

Our client, a respected nonprofit housing organization, is seeking a Property Manager to take ownership of a newly constructed affordable housing community in Brooklyn that is currently in lease-up. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role with significant visibility, establish operations, build processes, and drive the successful lease-up of a mission-driven community.

What You'll Do

• Lead all day-to-day operations of a newly opened affordable housing community currently in lease-up.
• Oversee the successful leasing and occupancy of a 100% affordable, rent-stabilized property serving residents across 40%–120% AMI income bands.
• Supervise the onsite leasing and resident support team while creating efficient operational processes and procedures.
• Partner closely with onsite social service providers supporting 45 supportive housing apartments through the NYC 15/15 program.
• Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations, rent stabilization requirements, and lottery-based leasing programs.
• Deliver exceptional resident service while maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with ownership and leadership to establish best practices for a brand-new community.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing affordable housing communities.
• Strong understanding of affordable housing compliance, AMI income qualifications, and rent-stabilized properties.
• Experience with or exposure to new construction and lease-up communities is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and build systems in an environment where processes are still being established.
• Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working alongside supportive housing programs or resident services is a plus.
