Description

Want to be part of something people experience every day?

We’re looking for an Asset Assistant to join our Centre Management team in Westfield Mall of the Netherlands.

This is a great opportunity to play an important role in the day-to-day operation of a busy shopping centre, supporting everything from customer experience and tenant communication to reporting, projects and community initiatives.

You’ll be close to the action, working with Centre Management, Operations, Marketing, tenants, suppliers and customer-facing teams. Your work will help ensure the centre runs smoothly and that everyone who visits, works or operates a business here has a positive experience.

If you enjoy variety, take pride in keeping things organised and like being the person who helps make things happen, we’d love to hear from you.

Why this role matters

The Asset Assistant is at the heart of the Centre Management team, helping to connect people, information and activity across the centre.

You’ll support the General Manager and wider team in delivering the centre’s business plan, customer experience priorities and community commitments. From coordinating tenant communications and preparing performance reports to supporting centre projects and maintaining customer touchpoints, your contribution will be visible across the asset.

This is a varied role where no two days are likely to be the same. It offers the opportunity to develop broad experience across shopping centre operations, customer experience, marketing, data and project coordination.

What you’ll be getting involved in

No two days will look exactly the same, but you’ll spend your time:

  • Supporting the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Centre Management team with day-to-day priorities, meetings, presentations, events and longer-term projects

  • Acting as a key point of contact for tenants, helping to answer operational queries and ensuring information is shared clearly through email, reception and URW Connect

  • Coordinating customer enquiries and feedback, working with our partners to make sure complaints and requests are handled professionally and followed through

  • Helping improve the customer journey across the centre, including signage, digital screens, maps and wayfinding

  • Supporting preparations for customer experience assessments, quality audits, surveys and mystery shopping

  • Monitoring customer experience measures and feedback trends, helping the team identify practical opportunities for improvement

  • Coordinating the administrative elements of tenant move-ins and move-outs, working with Construction, Operations and Marketing colleagues

  • Maintaining key centre information across internal systems, the website, URW Connect and operational documents

  • Managing the collection of sales information and supporting footfall and centre performance reporting

  • Gathering and analysing information from systems such as Digiez, Sprinklr, MyData Portal and Mercury

  • Preparing clear reports, presentations and updates for internal and external stakeholders

  • Helping to maintain a safe, sustainable, organised and welcoming Centre Management office

  • Coordinating with Guest Services, Reception, cleaning, maintenance, parking and other supplier teams

  • Managing office expenditure, including raising and tracking purchase orders

  • Supporting marketing activity, events, content collection and collaboration with agencies and community partners

  • Taking ownership of smaller centre projects, seasonal initiatives and local collaborations

  • Supporting alignment and information sharing between the centre, other Amstelveen teams and the wider business

  • Identifying recurring issues and working with colleagues to find effective, longer-term solutions

  • Participating in the Duty Management rota when required

What we’re looking for

We’re not looking for someone who ticks every single box. What matters most is that you bring the right attitude, energy and organisation to make a real contribution.

You’ll enjoy this role if you:

  • Have around one to three years’ experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, reception, office administration, property support or a similar operational environment

  • Enjoy working in a busy environment where priorities can change

  • Are highly organised, structured and attentive to detail

  • Like taking ownership and seeing tasks through to completion

  • Are comfortable coordinating several activities at the same time while meeting deadlines

  • Build positive relationships easily and enjoy working with a wide range of people

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in writing, over the phone and in person

  • Have experience handling customer enquiries and responding calmly and constructively

  • Are proactive, independent and solution-focused

  • Enjoy using data and information to understand performance and support decisions

  • Are comfortable coordinating smaller projects or contributing to larger initiatives

  • Have a genuine interest in retail, real estate, customer experience or operational improvement

It would be great if you also bring:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English

  • Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Experience working with digital systems to record, track and update information

  • The ability to prepare accurate reports, presentations and correspondence

  • Previous exposure to shopping centres, retail operations, real estate or marketing, although this is not essential

  • An understanding of marketing tools or social media platforms
