Employees enjoy multiple wealth-building opportunities through our annual stock grant, employee stock purchase plan, 401(k), and access to free, year-round money coaches. That’s how we’re UNSTOPPABLE for our employees!

Job Overview:

As a Group Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic design programs within T-Mobile's Product Experience Design & Innovation (PXDI) organization. You will leverage expertise in design operations, program strategy, and cross-functional leadership to build scalable frameworks, governance models, and execution systems that drive high-impact initiatives across the enterprise. You will influence roadmap decisions through close partnership with Design, Product, Engineering, and Research leaders, champion best practices for design program management, and ensure all initiatives align with T-Mobile's broader business and customer experience objectives.

The ideal candidate brings more than program management expertise and leadership. They bring conviction. They evaluate the problem before building the plan, proactively shape scope and timelines to set initiatives up for success, and hold themselves accountable for every outcome, including what AI helps them produce.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Program Leadership

  • Assemble key design and product stakeholders, fostering internal collaboration across PXDI and related teams to enable effective cross-functional teamwork. Ensure seamless execution by managing resources, setting clear milestones, and resolving conflicts early. Serve as a bridge between design, product, engineering, and business functions to drive program success. Influence roadmaps and planning processes across Design, Product, Engineering, Research, and Operations.
  • Define and manage the scope of design programs, incorporating strategic business and customer experience factors. Ensure programs remain aligned with evolving product and user experience goals, mitigating scope creep while adapting to necessary change.

Program Execution & Delivery

  • Manage the scope and schedule of design initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader product roadmaps. Build scalable systems and operating models that improve design effectiveness. Provide oversight of personnel and resources, resolving allocation conflicts and setting priorities to optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Define and uphold design quality standards, ensuring all deliverables meet business and customer needs. Identify and resolve gaps in design execution, maintaining accountability for outcomes. Communicate complex tradeoffs and recommendations to executive audiences; facilitate strategic alignment across organizations.

Stakeholder & Risk Management

  • Lead the development of project communications and ensure clarity in design program execution. Facilitate team meetings, define success metrics for design initiatives, and track program effectiveness against strategic goals. Ensure adherence to best practices in design operations and program management methodologies. Leverage AI tools to accelerate reporting and surface options, while owning full accountability for every recommendation that goes out under your name.
  • Identify potential risks across design programs and implement proactive mitigations. Evaluate the problem before accepting the brief — reframe and pressure-test scope, speed, and approach when needed. Communicate challenges in both business and design terms, providing clear solutions to senior leadership. Advocate for design priorities while balancing broader organizational goals, serving as a key escalation point for issues within the PXDI org.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Business Administration, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in program or product management within a design or technology environment, with a strong track record of delivering complex solutions.
  • 4-7 years of experience in Agile Program Management (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and working closely with design, product, and engineering teams.
  • Experience in design operations, UX strategy, or product design management preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of design processes, methodologies, and user experience principles.
  • Proficiency in design and project management tools (e.g., Figma, Jira, Confluence).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate design priorities into actionable plans within a broader business context; interprets AI-surfaced insights and competitive signals to determine the right organizational response.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Programs delivered on time, on scope, and with clear impact on customer experience and business goals.
  • Scalable frameworks and governance models adopted across PXDI and beyond.
  •  Senior leaders trust your read on tradeoffs, risk, and when to move.
  •  AI integrated into program workflows, accelerating delivery while you own every recommendation and outcome.
  •  Cross-functional partners across Design, Product, Engineering, and Research name you as a force multiplier.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (Preferred)

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
