Position Summary:

We are looking to hire a talented and eager Senior Director of Business Intelligence to join our team in a remote position. The Senior Director of Business Intelligence is the leader of the Scout Business Analytics function.  They oversee the strategic development and operational execution of all data analytics initiatives.  They work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and the Executive Leadership Team to achieve business goals.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Provide strategic leadership to the Business Analytics group and oversee the successful development and rollout of tools, processes, and reporting standards that will improve the quality, speed, and profitability of Scout projects and deliverables
• Serve as central business reporting owner, designing and executing a comprehensive, innovative, and effective reporting structure to address all enterprise-wide needs
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Commercial, Business Development, and Product leadership to transform ambiguous or complex business problems into scalable data solutions
• Translate detailed analytical and statistical concepts into clear strategic recommendations for non-technical management stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to optimize existing reports and datasets to improve cross-functional value while minimizing redundancies in data
• Oversee the refinement and maintenance of Scout’s data warehouse and analytics engine with internal and external stakeholders
• Establish and ensure adherence to data governance and data security practices and policies
• Create plans for developing and maintaining ad-hoc reporting requests that don’t otherwise fall into established reporting infrastructure
• Oversee resourcing and technology requirements to accommodate growth and process improvements
• Proactively identify additional business intelligence tasks and deliverables for the organization as needs regularly evolve
• Complete all required initial and ongoing training within a reasonable or provided timeframe

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies and qualities:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• 10+ Years of data science experience with a proven track record of success
• 7+ Years of management experience in data analytics and reporting within the clinical research industry
• Ability to work on multiple projects and timelines concurrently
• Innovative problem solver, using critical thinking to address challenges proactively 
• Thrive in fast-paced environments, maintaining performance under pressure 
• Strong project management and prioritization capabilities
• Advanced proficiency with database and reporting programs and software product delivery 
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, PowerPoint,
• Experience working with software development teams
• Experience with HIPAA and EU Data Privacy
• Innovative problem solver, using critical thinking to address challenges proactively 
• Strong customer service orientation 
• Collaborative team player, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and clients 
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
