About the Role
Our client is a well-established custom furniture and cabinetry manufacturer looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the business.
The role will oversee and coordinate Production Design, Manufacturing, Installation and Administration, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on operational leader who can manage multiple departments, solve problems quickly, improve processes and drive accountability through clear KPIs and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business.
- Coordinate workflow and communication across Production Design, Manufacturing, Installation and Administration.
- Lead and support Factory, Installation and Administration Managers.
- Monitor production and installation schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges, bottlenecks and delays.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement.
- Implement and monitor KPIs and operational processes.
- Ensure projects are delivered according to quality, cost and time requirements.
- Provide regular operational reporting to the Managing Director.
- Foster a high-performance, accountable and collaborative working environment.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in Operations or Manufacturing Management.
- 5+ years' experience within cabinetry, kitchens, furniture manufacturing or shopfitting.
- Proven experience managing multiple departments and teams.
- Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Computer literate.
- Valid driver's licence.
Advantageous
- Experience with production planning and Lean Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 principles.
- Experience implementing operational systems, processes and KPIs.
- Experience with Cabinet Vision or Winner design software.

The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing/operations leader who understands the realities of a custom production environment. They should be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable taking ownership of operational challenges from production through to installation.
