Description
The Capital Development Strategy Intern will be immersed in data driven research and report building as it pertains to capital spend for our current and future project portfolios. Your responsibilities will include but aren't limited to:
Capital Strategy Intern:
Collaborate with Development, Finance, Accounting, and Procurement teams on strategic capital initiatives.
Support new development capital project requests and approvals in monthly senior executive committee meetings.
Maintain and create cost projections for greenfield construction and incremental site builds.
Work on equipment procurement and delivery processes.
Develop new processes and documentation to improve capital project management.
Apply industry-leading practices to improve overall business performance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, or related program
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Must be a US Citizen

Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:
Auburn University
Kansas State University
Georgia State University
Southern Adventist University
Texas A&M University
University of Kansas
Previous internship or co-op experience researching capital projects and building out advanced reports for strategic planning
Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
The estimated pay range for this role, if based in Virginia, is:
$19.50 - 29.82Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Virginia only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Virginia with compensation that aligns with your location.
