General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking a Manager, Strategic Communications with strong technical fluency and storytelling expertise to translate complex innovations into clear, differentiated narratives that resonate across global audiences. This role is designed for a communicator who understands how technology works—not just how to describe it—and can bridge engineering, product strategy, and business outcomes into compelling, credible stories.

You will operate at the intersection of technology, strategy, and storytelling, helping articulate Qualcomm’s leadership in areas such as AI, intelligent computing, connectivity, and next-generation platforms.

## Key Responsibilities

Narrative Development

• Support the evolution and operationalization of company-wide narrative architecture, ensuring consistency across content, speakerships, and campaigns.

• Monitor key industry dynamics and trends and develop a deep understanding of Qualcomm solutions and business priorities, to drive impactful storytelling and content development.

• Translate technical concepts (AI, semiconductors, edge computing, etc.) into clear, audience-ready narratives that connect innovation to real-world impact.

• Develop messaging that reflects a strong understanding of system architecture, product capabilities, and ecosystem dynamics.

• Contribute to the evolution of Qualcomm’s technical narrative framework, ensuring consistency across highly complex subject areas.

Technology-Driven Content Creation

• Create executive-level materials (keynotes, messaging frameworks, presentations) grounded in technical accuracy and strategic relevance.

• Partner with product, engineering, and technical marketing teams to ensure storytelling reflects true differentiation at the technology level.

• Build narratives that move beyond features to explain why the technology matters—performance, scale, efficiency, and user impact.

Cross-Functional Technical Collaboration

• Act as a strategic communications partner to internal stakeholders across business units, marketing, investor relations, and executive teams.

• Act as a bridge between engineering, product marketing, and communications, ensuring alignment between technical substance and messaging clarity.

• Support executive speakerships by shaping technology-forward storylines that stand up to expert audiences (investors, partners, developers).

Program Management & Insight-Driven Execution

• Manage multiple initiatives with precision, ensuring delivery of technically accurate, high-impact communication assets.

• Apply data and insights to refine how technical stories are told and understood across audiences.

• Clear, consistent storytelling that strengthens Qualcomm’s corporate narrative across all major moments and platforms.

• Strong internal partnerships where Strategic Communications is viewed as a trusted, proactive business advisor.

• Communications that elevate executive voices, reinforce strategic priorities, and build long-term credibility with key stakeholders.

• Executives are equipped with narratives that hold up in technical, investor, and industry discussions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.

OR

Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 6+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.

OR

High school Diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, corporate communications, or related marketing roles.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complexity.

• Strong understanding of how communications support business strategy in large, matrixed organizations.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, work cross‑functionally, and influence without authority.

• Strong knowledge of wireless and computing industries, B2B, or innovation‑driven environments.

• Experience supporting executive communications or high‑profile external communications.

• Familiarity with AI‑enabled content workflows, measurement frameworks, or modern content operations.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast‑moving business priorities.

• Occasional travel to events, including some international travel.

• Self starter and quick learner with out-of-the-box thinking skills.

• Detailed-oriented with strong analytical skills

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$158,800.00 - $238,200.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
