A child with a visual impairment does not learn less. They learn differently. And the Teacher of the Visually Impaired is the person who figures out exactly how and builds the bridge between that child and their full potential.
A school district in Williamstown, Kentucky is looking for a TVI who is ready to do that work with dedication, expertise and genuine care for every student on their caseload.
You will develop and implement IEPs, deliver specially designed instruction, monitor student progress and collaborate with general education teachers, families and related service providers to ensure every visually impaired student reaches their full intellectual, emotional and psychological potential.
What you need to bring:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Valid Kentucky teaching certificate for Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs and specially designed instruction
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain accurate special education records and documentation
- Willingness to complete required Restraint and Seclusion training
