Description
Meet the Team:
Cisco’s ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) Engineering team is at the heart of our networking innovation. They are responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and verification of high-performance, custom silicon that powers the world’s most critical network infrastructure.
By engineering bespoke chips, the team enables unparalleled throughput, energy efficiency, and advanced security features, ensuring our routers, switches, and optical platforms can handle the massive data demands of today’s digital landscape. Working at the intersection of hardware architecture and software integration, this team is essential to maintaining Cisco’s leadership in networking technology, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in silicon design to solve complex connectivity challenges.
Your Impact:
The Foundry/OSAT Manager (Leader, ASIC Engineering) is responsible for the operational success of our packaging programs. You will manage the business and operational relationship with TSMC and OSAT partners, ensuring that capacity, cost, and delivery schedules are met. You bridge the gap between technical requirements and business execution.
The Leader, ASIC Engineering will lead an ASIC engineering team to deliver high-performance, power-efficient, and reliable ASICs for Cisco's diverse product platforms. They will lead the team in defining, designing, and verifying ASICs and ASIC subsystems to ensure alignment with stringent power, performance, and area (PPA) goals for deployment across Cisco’s platforms. The leader will also drive collaboration cross-functionally to achieve high-volume production with uncompromised quality. They will also define processes, methodologies, and tools for the design and implementation of complex ASIC developments, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and innovation. The leader would also oversee the documentation, development, and validation of ASIC subsystems, ensuring robust designs that meet the demanding requirements of Cisco's product ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
Vendor Management: Manage the strategic relationship with TSMC and OSAT partners. Lead business reviews, capacity planning, and contract negotiations.
Program Execution: Oversee the end-to-end NPI-to-HVM (High Volume Manufacturing) process. Ensure that technical milestones defined by the Engineering Leader are met on time and within budget.
Resource & Budget Management: Manage the department budget, headcount, and resource allocation to support multiple product lines.
Risk Mitigation: Identify and manage supply chain risks. Develop contingency plans for capacity constraints or manufacturing disruptions.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the primary interface between the technical team and internal stakeholders (Finance, Procurement, Product Management).
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business (MBA is a plus).
15+ years of experience in semiconductor supply chain, foundry operations, or OSAT management.
Strong track record of managing large-scale manufacturing programs with TSMC.
Excellent project management skills (PMP or equivalent experience).
5+ years of proven management experience in a high-tech environment, with a focus on supply chain operations, vendor management, and team development.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP or equivalent certifications
