Job Description Summary

We are looking for scientists in our AI Computer Vision team at our Technology and Innovation Center. As a group, we Innovate and execute around image analytics aligned our healthcare and industrial businesses in a broad set of areas including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray for healthcare and automatic defect recognition, object recognition & tracking for industrial inspection and related applications. The Sr Scientist will work in and lead teams as technical domain expert addressing statistical, machine learning and data understanding problems in a commercial technology and consultancy development environment. In this role, you will contribute to the development and deployment of modern machine learning, operational research, semantic analysis, and statistical methods for finding structure in large data sets.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist in AI/ML Domain to join our Healthcare Technology & Innovation Center, focused on building early-stage (low TRL) AI-driven solutions. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive at the intersection of Image Analytics, Computer Vision, physics-informed modeling, and generative AI, and who are passionate about translating cutting-edge research into impactful innovations related to healthcare products, software and services. 

You will play a key role in conceptualizing, prototyping, and validating novel AI technologies, working closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to shape the future of healthcare solutions, both for our customers and for internal users. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct applied research and develop innovative AI, computer vision, and image analytics solutions for next-generation healthcare products, software, and services, with a focus on early-stage (low TRL) technologies.
  • Design, develop, and optimize machine learning, deep learning, and image processing algorithms for medical imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray, and physiological monitoring systems.
  • Research and implement advanced AI techniques, including generative AI, diffusion models, GANs, foundation vision models, multimodal models, and large language models (LLMs), to solve challenging healthcare imaging and clinical workflow problems.
  • Develop physics-informed and data-driven AI models for applications such as image reconstruction, enhancement, segmentation, detection, registration, super-resolution, and clinical decision support.
  • Build proof-of-concepts and technology prototypes to validate new ideas, assess technical feasibility, and demonstrate the potential value of emerging AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams comprising clinicians, imaging scientists, software engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to translate research concepts into impactful healthcare innovations.
  • Design and execute experiments, analyze results, and benchmark AI models using appropriate quantitative metrics to ensure technical rigor and reproducibility.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and research literature in AI, computer vision, medical imaging, and multimodal learning, and incorporate relevant advancements into ongoing research programs.
  • Contribute to intellectual property development through invention disclosures, patents, technical publications, and conference presentations.
  • Develop scalable AI solutions using modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras, following software engineering best practices.
  • Support the transition of promising research outcomes into product development by working closely with engineering teams and participating in technology transfer activities.
  • Mentor junior researchers and interns on technical approaches, experimental methodologies, and best practices while contributing to a collaborative and innovative research environment.
  • Ensure compliance with scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards in the development and validation of AI-enabled healthcare technologies.

Educational Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Masters / PhD in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or related Engineering field or Computer science/Biomedical engineering with specialization in image processing, signal processing, or inverse problems.
  • Master’s degree holders with demonstrated research credentials in the fields of AI are also encouraged to apply. Specific areas of required expertise are: Image analytics, Deep Learning, Inverse problems in Imaging, Clinical decisioning, super resolution reconstruction.

Technical expertise:

  •  Expertise in Deep Learning and Computer Vision/ Image processing, TensorFlow, Pytorch and Keras is required.
  • Experience with Generative AI techniques including diffusion models, GANs, foundation vision models, multimodal models, and large language models (LLMs). 
  • Experience applying generative AI to medical imaging use cases such as image synthesis, image reconstruction, report generation, data augmentation, segmentation, and clinical workflow automation. 
  • Familiarity with vision-language models (VLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and multimodal AI systems for healthcare applications.
  • Basic understanding of medical imaging or biology

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong foundations in design, analysis, and implementation of algorithms in different computing architectures is desired.
