Employment Term: Permanent Full Time
Location: Auchenflower, just 5 mins from Toowong Shopping Village and 10 mins from Brisbane City
Remuneration: $34.94 - $35.99 p/h + 12% Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in The Wesley Hospital

Maintenance Officers are responsible for a variety of preventative, scheduled and reactive requests to maintain and service UCH property, including buildings, grounds, infrastructure and equipment. Maintenance Officers will demonstrate a broad skillset to perform activities required and work individually or as part of a team. Work performed will be under limited supervision from a certified tradesperson or supervisor and may require supervision of a Maintenance or Grounds Assistant. Work undertaken will be conducted to the highest standards of repair, presentation and hygiene.

  • Undertake routine preventative or scheduled maintenance activity promptly and to the highest standard to ensure all employees and visitors safety while at our facilities.

  • Work undertaken may include but not be limited to:
    o Maintenance and repairs of hospital buildings and equipment such as minor wall repairs, patching, painting and cleaning
    o Non licenced repairs such as resolving water leaks and concrete/paving repairs;
    o Conducting critical plant checks (where trained to do so)
    o Servicing air handling units, pumps and fans
    o Assisting tradespersons as required and responding promptly to reactive maintenance requirements, including minor department and common area maintenance, for example servicing taps, changing light globes and other minor repairs.

  • Ensure all plant, fittings and equipment meet regulatory compliance standards.

  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner with work undertaken to a high standard.

  • Ensuring all work activity is documented/logged in the asset management system.

What makes a difference for us?

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role including broad maintenance skills to address basic carpentry, plumbing and or motor maintenance.

  • Certificate in Facilities, Building or Construction 

  • Desirable to have experience in healthcare.

  • Current Australian driver’s license .

  • Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment
