Responsibilities:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on our team, you’ll have a hands-on role in supporting patients as they work toward greater independence, improved function, and a higher quality of life. This is a collaborative and rewarding opportunity to work under an Occupational Therapist, grow your clinical skills, and make a real difference in patients’ daily lives.
Implements individualized treatment programs to improve physical, psychosocial, and developmental function and support independence in activities of daily living.
May modify treatment approaches within the established plan of care developed by the Occupational Therapist based on patient status and progress.
Assists with the selection, setup, and use of adaptive equipment and/or splinting to promote patient independence and functional performance.
Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, adaptive strategies, and preventive care.
Completes timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and departmental standards.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care team members to support coordinated care.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and standards related to quality assurance, safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
Participates in ongoing education, in-services, and required meetings to support professional growth and clinical competency.
Contributes to special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Two to three years of college-level coursework, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Occupational Therapy Assistant required Current Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license required
Less than one year of Occupational Therapy experience required
