Finance Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Finance Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £18.35 - £24.04 per hour

Summary:

The Finance Officer role requires excellent attention to detail, strong financial administration skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with schools and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will have experience in accounts payable processes, SAP, and Microsoft Excel, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with financial procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Process funding and supplier payments accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate payment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial records, payment schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with schools regarding payments, financial queries, and funding information.
• Update and maintain SAP records and financial data.
• Support finance reporting and provide administrative assistance as required.

Qualification:

• Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

Essentials:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance or accounts payable role within a Local Authority or school setting.
• Minimum 1 year's experience using SAP.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, spreadsheets, and data management.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
