This temporary position is located at 203 South Green Street, Morganton- Burke County, with Department of Adult Correction (DAC).
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $16.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Position provides clerical and administrative support to Chief Probation/Parole Officers and Probation/Parole Officers within one or more work units. Work is performed in a Judicial District Office or Judicial District Probation office.
Community Supervision, as part of the Department of Adult Correction, is responsible for the oversight of the supervision of all adult offenders on probation, parole or post-release supervision.
Additionally, Community Supervision is responsible for the supervision of offenders who transfer from other states, as well as oversight of the Community Service Work Program.
Community Supervisions' mission is to ensure public safety while providing meaningful supervision of offenders that directs the offenders towards becoming productive citizens of the state.
Community Supervision employs approximately 2,600 people consisting of primarily certified Probation/Parole Officers to supervise more than 80,000 criminal offenders located throughout North Carolina. Probation/Parole Officers protect the safety of citizens in communities throughout the state by providing viable alternatives and meaningful supervision to offenders placed under Community Supervision. This is accomplished by obtaining an equal balance of control and treatment for offenders that will positively affect their behavior and lifestyle patterns.
Management Preferences:
- Thorough knowledge in completing tasks efficiently and promptly when utilizing various business functional areas such as administration, strategic planning, time management, organizational skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office technology products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office365, Email, Smartsheet, as well as operating typical office equipment.
- Experience developing and maintaining effective relationships with others to encourage and support communication, and collaborative working relationships with coworkers
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend information and effectively communicate it to others, both verbally and in writing, using correct and or/ appropriate tone, spelling, punctuation, and specialized vocabulary.
- Working knowledge/experience in data collection, storage, compilation, and organization in printed and electronic formats.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
