HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT OPPORTUNITY – BRIGHTON
We are currently looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to provide flexible cover at a friendly GP surgery in Brighton.
This is a great opportunity for an HCA looking for flexible work, with 1–3 days per week available and hours that can be arranged around availability and practice requirements.

The Role
The successful HCA will support the practice team with a range of clinical duties, including:
- Phlebotomy
- Blood pressure checks
- Height and weight measurements
- NHS Health Checks
- ECGs
- Urinalysis
- Basic observations
- Supporting long-term condition reviews
- Wound care and dressings where appropriately trained
- Health promotion and lifestyle advice
- Supporting GPs, Practice Nurses and the wider clinical team
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Ensuring clinical rooms are clean, prepared and appropriately stocked
About You
We are looking for an HCA who has:
- Previous experience working within a UK GP surgery/primary care setting – essential
- Experience carrying out routine clinical procedures
- Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and patient-facing skills
- A reliable, professional and organised approach
- The ability to work within their training, competency and scope of practice
- Ideally, experience using SystmOne
Flexible Opportunity
The practice can consider candidates looking for 1, 2 or 3 days per week, with flexibility around working hours.
