The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for the role of Administrative Assistant within our Diagnostics division based out of Irving, Texas and this is an onsite role.
The key to successful treatment and full recovery is often fast, accurate diagnosis. Abbott’s Diagnostics businesses lead the way in helping people live healthier lives by providing reliable, timely information to physicians and patients.
As the Administrative Assistant, you’ll have the chance to provide administrative and project coordination support to PMO leadership and key business leaders within Core Diagnostics. In this role, you will help ensure smooth business operations through effective coordination, organization, and execution of critical administrative activities.
What You’ll Work On
- Provide dedicated administrative support to PMO leadership, including direct support to a senior leader and additional support for local directors and managers.
- Manage complex calendars, coordinate meetings, and prioritize competing requests to ensure leaders remain focused on business priorities.
- Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements and manage travel bookings through Concur.
- Prepare and submit expense reports while ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Support department communications, meeting logistics, and day-to-day operational activities across the leadership team.
- Coordinate administrative aspects of projects and business initiatives, tracking action items and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Support purchasing and requisition activities using SAP Ariba while maintaining compliance with company procedures.
- Escalate urgent issues appropriately and independently resolve routine administrative challenges.
- Handle confidential and business-sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 1+ year of administrative support experience.
- Experience managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and supporting business leaders.
- Experience arranging travel and processing expense reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework.
- Experience supporting senior leaders, directors, or executive-level stakeholders.
- Experience using SAP Ariba for purchasing and procurement activities.
- Experience using Concur for travel and expense management.
- Experience with employee performance management systems, including ePASS/EPAS.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and proactively drive tasks to completion.
- Experience working independently in a highly visible administrative support role.
