This is an entry-level, full-time opportunity designed for someone who is eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in facilities engineering. Through a structured training program, you'll work alongside experienced professionals while gaining practical experience with the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, steam, and chilled water systems that support patient care, research, and daily operations across our campus.
Over approximately 12 to 18 months, you'll participate in guided classroom and field-based training designed to prepare you for advancement into a Facilities Systems Engineer II role with increasing responsibility and independence.
The starting annual salary for this position is $75,686 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
Learn the operation and maintenance of large-scale mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Support the monitoring and performance of critical campus infrastructure
Participate in hands-on training focused on chilled water and steam generation systems
Investigate and help solve technical and operational challenges
Work with experienced engineers, supervisors, and technical staff to build your knowledge and skills
Assist with system performance tracking, analysis, and documentation
Create practical procedures, technical guides, and work instructions that help support safe and effective operations
Explore and apply technology solutions that improve compliance, reporting, and system management
Develop the technical expertise needed to assume greater operational responsibilities over time

What You'll Bring:
We're looking for someone who is curious, motivated, and excited to learn.

Successful candidates will typically have:
A recently completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
A strong interest in facility systems, infrastructure, and building operations
A passion for troubleshooting and solving technical problems
A desire to learn through hands-on experience and real-world application
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to organize information and create clear technical documentation
A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from others
An eagerness to take on challenges and continuously expand your technical knowledge

Who Will Be Successful in This Role?
You may be a great fit if you:
Enjoy understanding how complex systems work
Like combining technical analysis with hands-on field experience
Are naturally curious and ask questions to deepen your understanding
Take pride in finding practical solutions to problems
Want a career path that offers ongoing learning and professional development
Thrive in environments where no two days are exactly alike

A structured training and development program designed to help you grow your career
Opportunities for mentorship and learning from experienced technical professionals
Hands-on exposure to complex, institutional-scale infrastructure systems
A collaborative environment that values innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
Comprehensive benefits that support your health, well-being, financial future, and work-life balance
