POSITION SUMMARY:
We currently have a second shift opening in the operations department: Must be able and willing to work 5 PM-5 AM MON-FRI and Saturdays as needed. Employees average at least 40 hours a week, no more than 50.
*Not a climate controlled environment
As a Merchants Metals Galvanized Line Wire Operator you will provide operator support in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor product either at the beginning or end of the line
• Maintain equipment as directed by shift lead
• Monitor multiple units of production at the same time
• Troubleshoot line as needed
• Participate in weekly zinc drossing process
• Clean machinery; maintain the surrounding area, keeping area free of debris
• Attend to the zinc kettle, adding zinc ingots, and replacing charcoal and flux
• Operate an industrial fork lift in a safe manner
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements
NECESSARY SKILLS, BACKGROUND & COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum one year of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Must be able to work in a team-based, positive, fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to understand written instructions and follow procedures.
- Must be able and willing to work 5 PM-5 AM MON-FRI and Saturdays as needed. Employees average at least 40 hours a week, no more than 50.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
