Responsible for obtaining, researching and compiling information on claims filed for settlement. Ensures files are accurate and complete before sending to claims adjuster. Designated as point of contact to borrowers, clients and various vendors for claims that have been filed.Essential Functions:
- Set up claim files by obtaining information via phone, fax or email from clients or borrowers
- Assign an appraiser in the system for each claim received
- Receive appraisal information for claims filed
- Handle re-titling for total loss, theft and skip claims
- Responsible for keeping track of total loss and skip recovery inventory on Excel spreadsheets
- Keeping total loss procedures current based on state mandates.
- Prepare departmental invoices for payment and obtain approval from manager for payment
- Provide clerical support to the Department
- Good Customer Service skills

Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of clerical or administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (tracking and reporting)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication with internal and external partners
Preferred Skills
- Claims processing or auto title experience
- Knowledge of total loss and skip claim terminology
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Markel offers hybrid working schedules of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
