Job Summary:The General Accounting Team works together to support all of the accounting functions for the operation in Yellowstone National Park. Please see below for specifics depending on the position.
The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: Early December 2026 to Late March 2027 (depending on position)
Pay: $20.00/hourly to $23.70/hourly (wage will depend on the position)Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
Retail General Ledger Accounting Clerk - $20.50/hourly
- Reconcile Retail stores daily.
- Track and reconcile daily cash deposits.
- Track and reconcile assigned inventories and usage.
- Complete assigned balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Complete and reconcile 8027 Tip reports.
- Prepare monthly Tax-Exempt activity reports.
- Assist in the period end closing process.
- Identify weaknesses in daily sales reports and make suggestions for improvements.
- Provide general ledger support for park wide locations.
- Assist with Flash Reporting as needed.
- Assist the Manager General Ledger in research projects.
- Enter journal entries into the general ledger systems.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Attend required training courses.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and ergonomic policies.
- High level of attention to detail and strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Confidential handling of work issues as well as all areas of the General Accounting Office.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in dealing with employees, guests and vendors.
General Ledger Accounting Clerk - $20.00/hourly
- Reconcile Flash revenues to the P&L each period.
- Assist with the daily sales and general ledger report retention.
- Review and retain Streamline Tax Exempt forms.
- Assist in the review of daily report packages.
- Track and reconcile NPS Fishing Permit and NPS Entrance Fees collected.
- Track and reconcile YPSS deposits collected.
- Track and reconcile Payroll/Cash Advances.
- Data enter journal entries into the period upload spreadsheet and general ledger systems.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Attend required training courses.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and ergonomic policies.
- High level of attention to detail and strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Confidential handling of work issues as well as all areas of the General Accounting Office.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in dealing with employees, guests and vendors.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve the efficiency of department operations.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and help other departments as needed.
Office Admin Senior Accounting Clerk - $23.70/hourly
- Responsible for an orderly General Accounting Office and keeping up with maintenance as needed.
- Audit employee expense reports and send approved forms to corporate Accounts Payable.
- Open, sort, and expedite routing of mail to appropriate section/person of General Accounting Office or other departments.
- Scan and record all checks received in the General Accounting Office
- Order supplies/equipment for all General Accounting Office personnel and maintain adequate office supply inventory.
- Download JP Morgan Chase credit card invoices each month and send to Corporate for payment. Create corresponding journal entries at period end.
- Maintain a current list of company issued credit cards. Arrange for imprinting and issuance of new cards seasonally, as approved by General Manager and Controller.
- Prepare NPS electronic transfer forms and submit to Corporate for payment.
- Prepare and submit monthly donation check to Yellowstone Forever.
- Research, record, and initiate paperwork for collection of employee and guest checks returned by bank unpaid due to NSF and account closures. Work with collection agency when reimbursement is not received otherwise.
- Schedule department meetings and events.
- Oversee schedule for usage of department cars.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Attend required training courses and assist department safety committee member with scheduling training and tracking safety audits.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and ergonomic policies.
- High level of attention to detail and strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Confidential handling of all areas of the General Accounting Office.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in dealing with employees, guests and vendors.

AR Group Tour - $20.50/hourly
- Send accurate and timely invoices to clients.
- Have a positive approach while working with other departments to resolve discrepancies on invoices before billing.
- Answer customer questions concerning invoices or refunds. Correspond or call customers concerning overdue or disputed invoices.
- Properly document all customer communication.
- Complete duties and responsibilities of Accounts Receivable department during off-season.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.Attend required training courses.

Retail General Ledger & General Ledger:

- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record for the last 3 years.
- Experience in a hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of Yellowstone procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of company structure and policies helpful.
- Experience or knowledge of Accounts Payable processes.
Physical Requirements include (All) :
- Must be able to work most of the time sitting at a desk.
- Walking, standing and bending are required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work at elevations of more than 7700 feet.
