Job Description:
The Physical Security Operations Specialist, Asia, based in Manila, Philippines, supports day-to-day physical security operations across the Asia region, with a heightened focus on the Philippines. The role coordinates the Asia Incident Reporting Centre, including incident intake, triage, documentation, and escalation, and serves as the primary point of contact for the North American Incident Reporting Centre. The position will coordinate contract building security personnel for daily operations and special events, provide on-site support and planning for Sun Life sponsored events, liaise with contract security vendors for site-specific issues and deployment of security controls, and contribute to a safe, secure, and compliant working environment aligned with the Physical Security and Crisis Management program.
This role will also collaborate with a team of professionals whose mandate is to develop, implement and supervise support services, emergency response and other process documentation, as well as plan and execute on operational physical security and incident investigation requirements. This includes contributing to effective security risk management programs, investigation and intelligence programs, security system solutions, providing special event and personnel protection services, as well as delivering advice, direction, and education.
This position may interact with senior management at the Corporate and Business Group level, peers within Corporate Compliance, Information Security, Risk & Governance, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, Real Estate and Human Resources in the delivery of physical security and emergency response services related to both security and criminal incidents. This position will interface directly with external government, security, law enforcement and emergency services officials.
Key Accountabilities:
- Coordinate the Asia Incident Reporting Centre and act as the primary liaison with the North American Incident Reporting Centre.
- Provide on-site support for Sun Life sponsored events and coordinate security controls for personnel protection programs.
- Coordinate and support building security contract personnel for daily operations and special events.
- Support physical security incident response, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Support internal communications, reporting, and operational metrics for Asia security operations.
- Serve as the main on-site point of contact for the contract security vendor regarding specific issues on site.
