Description
A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to join their Finance team. This role will manage the full-cycle AR function with a focus on collections, credit management, cash flow reporting, and customer account maintenance. The successful candidate will collaborate with Sales, Shipping, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate invoicing, timely payments, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and collections
- Monitor aging reports, follow up on overdue balances, and implement collection strategies
- Maintain customer accounts, credit limits, and account information within the ERP system (Syspro experience an asset)
- Resolve billing discrepancies related to pricing, shipments, freight, and documentation
- Process credit/debit notes and reconcile customer accounts
- Prepare AR reports, trial balances, and cash flow updates
- Support month-end close, audits, and financial reporting activities
- Provide backup support for accounts payable, vendor reconciliations, and general accounting tasks
- Collaborate with warehouse, shipping, and operations teams to ensure accurate shipment-based invoicing
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of accounts receivable and collections experience, preferably within manufacturing
- Strong understanding of invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and credit management
- Experience with ERP systems (Syspro preferred) and strong Excel skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
