Systems Operations Manager - SRE

In this role, you will:

• Manage a Systems Operations team of analysts that monitor installed systems and infrastructure
• Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Systems Operations functional area
• Identify and recommend opportunities within Systems Operations to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on technical tasks
• Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operating systems, application software, and system management tools to meet business objectives
• Interpret and develop policies and procedures, and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area
• Collaborate and consult with analysts, Information Technology personnel, or vendors
• Manage mid to highly experienced analysts
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Systems Operations
• Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering, and Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 2+ years of Leadership experience
• Experience with Platform / Production Leadership role with minimum 15 members
• Stakeholder management including Tech Partners, LOB Users, Vendors etc.
• Good working experience on ITIL, Java/ .NET / Python, CI-CD, Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Ansible, ticketing tool Knowledge, SRE, OCP/Azure.

• Experience in ITIL / SRE:
  •    Incident / Problem Management
  •    Change Management & Asset Management
  •    Configuration Management (CMDB)

 

• Programming/scripting experience:
  •    Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby
  •    NodeJS, Angular
  •    .NET / C#
  •    JSON and API based integrations

• CI/CD and automation tools experience:
  •    Ansible, Puppet
  •    Apigee
  •    Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle
  •    SonarQube, Artifactory

• Job/Batch scheduling 
  •    Autosys/JAWS

• Monitoring, Observability experience:
  •    Splunk, Elastic, Kibana
  •    Grafana, Prometheus
  •    AppDynamics, Dynatrace, 
  •    BigPanda, TrueSight
  •    Kafka, CloudWatch, solace

• Operating systems experience:
  •    AWS, Azure, GCP
  •    Kubernetes, OpenShift, PCF, PKS
  •    VMware

• Data platforms, messaging, and storage experience:
  •    Kafka, IBM MQ, Apache 
  •    Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra
  •    Hadoop, Cl

 

Job Expectations:

• Technology oriented B.E/B Tech Degree or equivalent advanced degree
• Analytic and excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility to work on rotational day shifts, floating weekends, and extended hours when required.
