Description
YMCA Camp Twin Lakes is searching for skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated medical professionals to join our Summer Camp team as Camp Medics. Camp Medics will manage the health and safety needs of the camp by tending to the medical needs of campers and staff. and maintaining records of all health care provided. Medics will distribute all camper and staff medications and attend to injuries or sicknesses that may occur. This is a seasonal position that runs from late May to mid-August with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend shifts will be required throughout the summer.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the health and wellness of campers and staff.
- Provide medical attention to campers and staff with minor injuries.
- Distribute and record camper medications in accordance with Medication Dispensing Form.
- Maintain treatment records and complete injury reports.
- Communicating with parents in a professional, caring manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Current EMT or equivalent.
- Must be able to complete YMCA required training as scheduled by management.
- Good bedside manner, friendly and personable.
- Prior experience with children and/or young adults is preferred (does not have to be in a medical capacity).
- Must maintain updated certifications of the job (CPR and First Aid/AED).
- Ability to pass a drug test/background check.
Pay Rate: $17.00 to $20.00/hour
