Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the manufacturing and repair processes for Gas Turbine Blades. You will own projects of moderate complexity, driving technical excellence through New Product Introduction (NPI), process optimization, and cross-functional leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Process Development & Optimization: Develop, document, and improve manufacturing and repair processes. Lead NPI initiatives and drive improvements in lead times, cycle times, and Cost of Quality (COQ).
- Technical Leadership: Design fixtures and tooling, define standard repair methods, and prepare comprehensive work instructions for the product line.
- Project Management: Manage end-to-end projects, including budget control, resource allocation, and scheduling. Define investment and expense needs, taking projects from initial approval to completion.
- Quality & Compliance: Resolve technical Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) by collaborating with engineering teams. Ensure all designs and technical data are accurately documented to maintain a robust historical record.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion LEAN initiatives and utilize Six Sigma methodologies to drive process efficiencies and cost-reduction strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary technical interface for manufacturing, sales, marketing, and external vendors. Ensure that Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards are integrated into all processes.
- Training & Mentorship: Lead team training on new methodologies, sharing global best practices to elevate the technical capabilities of the department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a technical, operational, or production-focused role.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Desired Characteristics
- Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred).
- Demonstrated success in driving safety and quality improvements within a production setting.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to bring new, innovative ideas to existing processes.
- Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
