Overview
The Motion Designer creates, adapts and finalizes high-quality motion and video assets for Publicis Zurich across television, digital, social and mobile channels. The role reports operationally to the Project Manager / Single Point of Contact in Mauritius and collaborates with Zurich project managers, creatives and production specialists. The position turns supplied master materials and briefs into technically correct, brand-consistent and engaging motion deliverables across formats, durations, languages and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Create 2D animations, motion graphics, video edits and motion adaptations based on supplied television spots, social assets, key visuals and campaign masters.
- Produce re-formats, cut-downs, resizes, language versions and platform-specific variants for television, web, mobile, social and digital advertising.
- Perform video compositing, rotoscoping, motion tracking, keying, clean-up, matte work, sound editing and basic sound mixing where required.
- Apply strong composition, timing, animation and storytelling principles while protecting the original creative idea and brand guidelines.
- Prepare, organize and deliver working files and final masters according to agreed naming conventions, version control and technical specifications.
- Coordinate closely with the Project Manager / SPOC and Zurich teams to clarify scope, assess feasibility, identify missing source material and flag risks early.
- Carry out detailed quality control covering content, animation, audio, dimensions, duration, codecs, file size and platform requirements.
- Manage several assignments in parallel, meet agreed deadlines and contribute to improved templates, workflows and reusable production approaches.
- Create motion assets for advertising campaigns, corporate communications, training content and other video-based communication formats.
- Strong understanding of advertising specifications across video, digital, social and interactive media.
- Maintain consistent asset organization, version control and naming conventions across all deliverables.
- Develop a strong understanding of project objectives and creative intent before production begins.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience as a Motion Designer, Animator or Video Editor in advertising, digital content or post-production.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe After Effects and strong working knowledge of Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and Media Encoder.
- Strong understanding of 2D animation, motion-graphics principles, composition, typography and video editing.
- Practical knowledge of compositing techniques, including tracking, keying, rotoscoping and clean-up.
- Knowledge of audio editing and mixing for video content.
- Knowledge of Blender, Cinema 4D or comparable 3D tools is an advantage.
- Experience with HTML5/banner production tools and web-based animation frameworks is an advantage.
- Good command of written and spoken English. French and/or German is an advantage.
- Well organized, collaborative and quality focused, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage feedback, priorities and deadlines.
