Job Summary
HOOPP's information Technology teams deliver innovative technology solutions to help build a stronger financial future for the healthcare community. As an AI Enablement Business Partner, you help shape the organization's AI roadmap, evaluate emerging AI platforms and technologies, as well as identify opportunities to create meaningful business value through AI.
Our Digital Workplace team supports Enterprise AI capabilities across the organization. As an AI Enablement Business Partner, reporting to the Director, Modern Workplace, you will build and enable solutions, pressure-test ideas quickly, decide what is worth pursuing, and help move promising work into production with the team. You will act as the bridge between what is technically possible with today’s AI tooling and what the business needs from concept to implementation.
We cultivate a culture that emphasizes innovation, collaboration, practicality, and the courage to challenge the status quo. This role is well suited to someone who combines technical depth with curiosity, sound judgment, product thinking, systems thinking, and a willingness to test new ideas. You will look beyond immediate symptoms, identify underlying needs, and develop solutions that are secure, sustainable, and valuable in delivering the pension promise. Success in this role requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, ask thoughtful questions, and turn emerging technologies into practical solutions that deliver measurable business impact.
What you will do:
Prototype and ship: Design and build working AI solutions spanning agents, MCP integrations, custom Skills, Copilot/agent extensions, and automations across commercial AI platforms, moving from idea to working proof of concept quickly while keeping governance and security in mind
Exercise judgment, not just output: Evaluate which AI use cases are worth building and which aren't, and be willing to say no or kill something that isn't working, rather than optimizing for volume of prototypes shipped
Partner with the business: Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to uncover opportunities, bring clarity to ambiguous problems, and identify high-value use cases. Run discovery sessions, demo working solutions (not slideware), and rapidly test ideas to transform concepts into buildable AI solutions that deliver tangible business value
Build institutional memory: Maintain a use-case library of proven solutions, prompts, and agent configurations so good ideas compound instead of getting rebuilt from scratch
Hand off cleanly: Document your technical approach well enough that engineering can harden and scale it without you in the room, this role is about multiplying the team's output, not being the only person who can maintain what you built
Stay current and bring a point of view: Track the commercial AI landscape (new models, agentic tooling, MCP servers) and bring leadership genuine recommendations, not just news
Help where needed: Contribute where needed as part of a small, hands-on team, including occasional BA, engineering, or operational support work, while keeping the primary focus on AI enablement, prototyping, and scalable adoption
What you bring:
Ability to build trusted relationships with business and technical partners at all organizational levels, facilitate productive discovery conversations, and communicate complex concepts and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives
A collaborative and accountable approach to delivery, including documenting and handing off solutions effectively, sharing knowledge, incorporating feedback, and supporting sustainable adoption across teams
n-depth hands-on experience implementing AI/ML or generative AI solutions across commercial platforms including Microsoft Copilot ecosystem, Claude (including Claude Code and Claude Cowork), ChatGPT Enterprise, Google Gemini, or similar
Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, uncover the underlying need, and apply curiosity, creative problem-solving, and sound judgment to turn complex business challenges into practical solutions that can be tested, refined, scaled, or stopped
Practical experience with modern agentic AI concepts and responsible AI practices: autonomous agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations, custom Skills or tool-use extensions, and orchestrating across multiple AI tools
Working technical fluency with at least one of: Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio), API integration with LLM providers, or scripting/light development (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and how Copilot, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, and Teams support enterprise AI solutions, along with the judgment to evaluate and use technologies outside the Microsoft ecosystem when appropriate
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
The expected annual base salary range for this role is: $103,000 - $153,000 CAD
The actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.
