South College is seeking candidates for a full-time and adjunct Faculty position for the developing Respiratory Therapy Program. The Respiratory Therapy Faculty is responsible for teaching respiratory therapy courses, providing continuous review of the curriculum with the PD and DCE, developing student assessment and critical thinking skills, and assisting in the lab and clinical experience.
Classroom Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to Program Director.
- Effectively teaches assigned courses.
- Establishes goals and objectives for programs’ courses.
- Prepares action plans and completes remediation to address student classroom and lab deficiencies.
- Maintains student records for completed competencies associated with lab courses.
- Collaboratively reviews curriculum with the Program Director, DCE, and faculty to ensure content is current and coincides with the NBRC TMC and CSE Matrix.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Dean.
Requirements
- Earned at least a baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency.
- recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
- Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license.
- Have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
- Have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.
