The Role…
At Soho House, the Assistant Bar Manager supports the Bar Manager in leading the day-to-day operations of the club’s bar areas, delivering a premium beverage service that complements the overall member experience. You will ensure the bar is compliant with all licensing, health and safety, and hygiene regulations while supporting the commercial and creative goals of the business.

Key duties…
- Assisting in Staff Management: Support the Bar Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising bar staff. Provide guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of service and professionalism.
- Operational Oversight: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in all areas.
- Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service. Interact with guests, handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly and effectively, and ensure that all guests have a positive experience.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing bar inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and conducting regular inventory counts. Implement strategies to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
- Menu Development and Pricing: Collaborate with the Bar Manager and other team members to develop and update the bar menu, including selecting and pricing beverages and creating signature cocktails. Ensure that menu offerings are aligned with customer preferences and industry trends.
- Financial Management: Support the Bar Manager in monitoring bar revenue, expenses, and profitability. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
- Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions and ongoing education programs for bar staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of products, service standards, and safety procedures.
- Maintaining Relationships: Cultivate positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the bar and access to high-quality products and services.
What we are looking for...
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity
- Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm, through quickly and effectively problem solving under pressure
- Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests
- Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously
