Position Overview
The Manager, Instructional Design & Learning Effectiveness will be responsible for the design, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide learning solutions that support and shape the learning experience by designing high-quality company-wide, and function-specific, learning materials on a variety of subjects.
This role focuses on enhancing the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of employees to drive individual and organizational performance. The person in this role will collaborate with internal stakeholders, Talent Development, Operations, and Human Resources team members to design and develop learning experiences, including instructor-led and eLearning courses, microlearning, and job aids. Success in this role will be achieved through improving learning outcomes for Invenergy’s current and future development and training programs.
This is role is located at Invenergy's headquarters in downtown Chicago, IL with regular time spent at our Center of Excellence in Bolingbrook, IL.
Invenergy follows a hybrid schedule, working in office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays if work permits.
Responsibilities:
Develop innovative learning solutions that enhance employee capability, improve organizational performance, and support the achievement of strategic business goals utilizing expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.
Provide direct leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development for a subordinate instructional designer.
Create and maintain style guides, instructional guides, techniques, and training materials to develop governance practices across the learning function.
Write, design, and update learning content and materials supporting mandatory training using the most effective modalities including instructor led and virtual instructor led training, e-learning, blended learning, microlearning, video learning, and performance support tools
Create content for and support the administration of Invenergy’s Learning Management System (LMS)
Partner with subject matter experts to transform complex operational information into learner-centered instructional experiences
Manage external training vendors and resources as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resources, or related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in instructional design and learning development
Proven experience in corporate learning program management with the ability to build and execute programs effectively and efficiently and monitor and measure learning outcomes.
Comprehensive knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with experience working cross functionally and demonstrated ability to build rapport and influence across teams.
Strong prioritization skills to effectively navigate and contribute to multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia editing software
Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ year of people management experience
Training professional certification: Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) or Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD).
Experience with Docebo learning management system (LMS).
Base Pay
$118,000.00 - $139,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 25% - 40%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
