Job Description Summary
The Technical Writer will be a self-driven individual responsible for developing comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards for Power Conversion and Storage products. Working within a well-defined framework, you will translate technical information into clear, user-friendly content for internal and external stakeholders. You are accountable for the quality and timeliness of your own work and will actively participate in horizontal teams to support project goals.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Research, outline, and write technical content, including Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Installation Manuals, and Product Specifications. Ensure all content is polished, engaging, and meets the needs of the target audience.
- Technical Interpretation: Gather information from subject-matter experts (SMEs) and translate complex data from EPLAN schematics, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and 3D models into concise text.
- Documentation Maintenance: Update existing product documentation at the factory level to reflect design changes. Maintain detailed databases and repositories of reference materials.
- Standards Adherence: Follow established GE Vernova branding and technical publication standards. Utilize and maintain standard templates for data sheets, product brochures, and safety procedures.
- Project Support: Plan and conduct your own work routines to meet project deadlines. Provide feedback on tools and processes to help identify potential areas for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Act as an interface between product and project teams, working cross-functionally to deliver high-quality documentation and translations.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or similar from a reputed college.
- Experience: Approximately 3–5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably within electric power components or systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exposure to UL/IEC and Quality standards.
- Competencies: Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems with some guidance and identify the limits of one's own knowledge to seek appropriate support.
Desired Characteristics
- Execution: Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and a focus on On-Time Delivery (OTD).
- Technical Tools: Familiarity with DITA/XML, Madcap, Visio, or CMS systems is an asset.
- Communication: Fluent in English with the ability to present complex data clearly and concisely.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
