Job Summary:
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for leading all aspects of custodial staff recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management while supporting the day-to-day operations of Hall of Fame Village facilities. Working collaboratively with departments throughout the organization, this position helps maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness while supporting the organization's overall operational goals.
This role oversees custodial inventory and supply management, promotes consistent cleaning standards, and drives operational efficiency across assigned facilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Provide superior guest service to visitors, guests, clients, vendors, and staff.
- Supervision of assigned staff, assuming day-to-day responsibilities for personnel related matters.
- Supervise and coordinate campus-wide custodial operations to ensure facilities are consistently clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Schedule and oversee third-party cleaning contractors and waste management services as needed.
- Develop, implement, and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning schedules and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance standards are consistently met.
- Respond appropriately to facility incidents, accidents, emergencies, and operational issues.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Monitor, manage, and maintain custodial supply inventories across all campus locations, including ordering and recordkeeping.
- Perform custodial duties as needed, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, and other cleaning activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and supply usage reports.
- Respond promptly to calls, emails, texts, work orders, and departmental requests.
- Report facility deficiencies, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
- Support special events and campus operations as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2+ years of Supervisory experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ Custodial or Housekeeping experience.
- Must have experience with chemical SDS, large cleaning equipment, and third-party vendors.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Required to be able to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative environment.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary) is required.
- Must be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and entire organization.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of performance, working quickly without compromising quality.
- Proven ability in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements for Position:
- The ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds regularly.
- The ability to work in various Ohio weather conditions, inside and outside.
- The ability to work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operate phones, computers, copiers/scanners, and other office equipment.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain, steps, or in construction zones.
- The ability to see and respond to hazardous situations.
- The ability to sit, stand, squat, bend, stoop, twist, walk, and complete repetitive hand and write motions for periods of time as required for the position.
- Must be able to hear, see, and speak.
- Ability to comprehend instructions and retain information.
- Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties.
- Must be available to work in Canton, Ohio.
