The Director, Residential Business Development (Ontario and Atlantic) is responsible for the oversight of the residential Business Development team in those areas.

The position is home-office based but requires frequent in-person client and prospect meetings.

Job Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of the residential Business Development (BD) team in Ontario and Atlantic Canada

• Provide support and direction to sales staff 

• Troubleshoot issues and ensure matters are resolved in a timely manner

• Create and align departmental and staff goals with corporate goals

• Liaise with internal departments to ensure BDs are updated on internal updates and process changes

• Create and maintain positive relationships with BD representatives, internal staff and department heads in order to resolve issues and work on projects that are beneficial to the clients and the business

• Produce monthly and quarterly departmental reports and presentations as required

• Represent BD group as a stakeholder for new Stewart Title’s technology initiatives

• Assist with new business initiatives, as required

• Attend client events and go on the road as required

• Update BDs on issues or legislation that affect the real estate market, clients or the business

• Keep updated on micro and macro issues that affect residential real estate in both regions
• Represent Stewart Title at industry events & conferences.·        
• Budget planning and assistance with sales forecasting·       
• Other duties as required or assigned 

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, Finance, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in business development, sales, title insurance, real estate, lending, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of real estate law, closing processes, and title insurance products
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Ontario & Atlantic Canada
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Travel and In-Office Expectations

• This is a home-office-based position, with the expectation that the Director will spend appx three to four days per week conducting external meetings.
• Some client meetings, industry events, and conferences will require overnight travel across the four Atlantic provinces.
• Travel needs will depend on the successful candidate’s location but is expected to be appx four to six trips per year.

 

Salary Range - $160,000 to $180,000
