Sr. QA Analyst

Description

Plateau is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to support a government client through the modernization and migration of applications to the Cloud. This position will play a key role in ensuring applications meet functional, technical, and quality requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.

The Senior QA Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, software developers, engineers, and project leadership to translate requirements into comprehensive testing strategies, develop test cases and test data, execute testing, identify defects, and help drive issues through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies for applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Perform functional, system, integration, user acceptance, regression, and migration testing.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into detailed, traceable test cases and test scenarios.
• Develop and maintain Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scripts, Test Data, and other QA documentation.
• Review requirements and program documentation for completeness, consistency, feasibility, testability, quality, and compliance.
• Work closely with developers, engineers, business analysts, and end users to identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with development teams throughout planning, development, testing, and release activities.
• Develop and execute automated tests where appropriate while maintaining effective manual testing capabilities.
• Perform testing associated with application migrations and modernization efforts, including validation of functionality and data following migration.
• Track, analyze, and report defects, testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and overall test status.
• Prepare status reports, problem notification reports, problem resolution reports, and other project documentation as required.
• Monitor development and testing processes to ensure established quality standards and procedures are followed.
• Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, testing methodologies, documentation, and overall delivery quality.
• Work with a dynamic team to refine and enhance solutions based on stakeholder and user feedback.
• Support other QA activities and responsibilities as needed to meet program objectives.

Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance/testing, preferably supporting complex enterprise or government applications.
• Strong understanding of software development concepts, procedures, and technologies within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Hands-on experience with:
• System Testing
• Integration Testing
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Regression Testing
• Application/Migration Testing
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
• Experience developing and executing both manual and automated tests.
• Ability to analyze and verify business requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.
• Experience working closely with software developers, engineers, business analysts, and end users to identify and resolve defects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively document test results, defects, risks, and recommendations.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools
• Must be willing to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days of hire.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting Cloud migration or application modernization initiatives.
• Experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Experience with SQL and database testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience testing web-based and enterprise applications.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or other federal government customers.
• Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile/test management platforms.

Active DoD Secret clearance required.
