Description
Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) is looking for a Senior Construction Inspector to join our team in the Blacksburg, Virginia area. This is an opportunity for someone with strong field experience to bring their knowledge to important transportation and infrastructure projects while working alongside engineers, contractors, and agency personnel. You’ll play an important role in helping ensure construction meets VDOT requirements and the quality and safety standards expected on our projects.
With 3+ years of construction inspection experience, you’ll be joining a supportive local team where people work well together and your experience and contributions are valued. What You'll Do:
- Oversee Major Projects: Be on the front lines of critical infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Enforce Standards: Maintain rigorous adherence to VDOT standards and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with Experts: Work alongside experienced engineers, contractors, and agency personnel.
- Solve Real-world Challenges: Adapt to changing field conditions and find innovative solutions.
What You'll Need:
- Proven Experience: 3+ years of construction inspection experience, including VDOT inspection experience and knowledge of roadway, structure, and bridge construction.
- Strong Field Knowledge: A solid understanding of construction practices, VDOT standards, quality, and safety.
- Strong Work Ethic: A dedication to quality, safety, and timely project completion.
Required Certifications:
- VDOT Soil and Aggregate Field Compaction
- VDOT Asphalt Field Level I & II
- ACI Concrete Field Tech Grade I
- Pavement Marking
- DEQ Certification for Erosion and Sediment Control Inspection
- Nuclear Gauge Safety Training
- VDOT Guardrail
- Intermediate Work Zone Safety Training
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction
