Job Description

We are looking for a Public Health Program Coordinator to support HIV prevention initiatives by providing technical assistance, data analysis, and program coordination for community partners and stakeholders. This position will be Full-Time and Hybrid in Indianapolis, IN.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical support for all Prevention program databases, including NORA, Aphirm, REDCap, and the SSP database

  • Offer technical assistance and data analysis support to community partners involved in HIV care and outreach, ensuring effective implementation of program strategies

  • Support the Outreach Program Manager in collecting and analyzing programmatic data and generating regular data reports for funders and program improvements

  • Field routine inquiries regarding external access to Prevention team databases and engage new external partners in participating in Prevention programming

  • Assist in updating state-level standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect best practices in HIV care and outreach

  • Act as a liaison with local organizations to promote HIV care interventions, harm reduction strategies, and available support services

  • Increase awareness and access to HIV testing and care services among target populations, including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, and People Who Inject Drugs (PWID)

  • Review program compliance with federal and state regulations, ensuring alignment with guidelines for HIV care

  • Draft reports and applications for funding related to HIV care initiatives, including progress reports on program outcomes

  • Compile, collect, and analyze data on care trends, access barriers, and population-specific needs to inform program strategies and improve outcomes

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional and national HIV care activities, integrating relevant harm reduction methods into program plans

  • Facilitate training sessions for providers on the use of data collection systems, ensuring accurate reporting and effective program evaluation

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the Prevention program

What You'll Need

Required:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

  • Willingness to travel throughout Indiana, including occasional overnight trips with limited notice

  • Availability for travel outside of Indiana, including overnight stays, for local or national conferences

  • Valid Driver’s License (State vehicle provided for business travel and commuting)

  • Experience working with public health databases and protected health information

  • Experience in community outreach, organization, and capacity building

  • Demonstrated experience with program building and program development

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws, guidelines, and recommendations related to HIV prevention services

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds

  • Extensive experience in report and procedure development

  • Experience in coaching agencies that are not meeting goals or objectives

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated professional experience in a relevant field

Physical Demands 

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

  • Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

$27.50 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
