DEPARTMENT: Shipping/Receiving
REPORTS TO: Shipping/Receiving Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: Shipping & Receiving Clerks, Raw Stock Inventory Clerk, Driver

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all material and goods are shipped and received in a safe and timely manner. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees the proper handling of raw bar stock.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise daily shipping and receiving to and from vendors and for customer orders and returns.
- Create daily shipping paperwork for outsourced parts.
- Ensure that all shipments from the previous day are logged out as needed.
- Ensure customer orders are properly packaged and labeled for shipping.
- Ensure pallets are securely loaded and transported; trucks are loaded and unloaded properly; proper shipping containment is used.
- Ensure parts for outside services are gathered, shipped, completed and received in a timely manner.
- Ensure outsourced parts received are properly logged into system and delivered to appropriate area.
- Provide oversight to the Raw Stock Inventory Clerk to ensure inventory is marked and pulled appropriately and that materials are organized and properly managed.
- Communicating with Sales department for individual part orders that will be shipping out UPS or customer pick up; collect all parts and bring to Shipping & Receiving to be shipped out or picked up.
- Receive and verify parts paperwork from vendors; verify delivery matches the Purchase Order and was received properly in system.
- Work with Customer Shipping Specialist to ensure all customer orders are prepared per customer requirement and shipped in a timely manner.
- Ensure that direct reports understand their overall responsibilities and tasks; mentor and develop direct reports to maximize performance and engagement. Communicate company goals policies, and processes and ensure they are followed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of shipping and receiving experience with increasing responsibilities required; some lead supervisory experience preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
- Forklift experience is required; material handling experience preferred.
- Experience with DHL, UPS, FedEx, Priority One, or similar shipping and delivery services preferred.
- Freight forwarding experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Effective communication with vendors, customers, Sales, Supply Chain, and internal departments is essential.
- Must be comfortable working in a hands-on environment while also providing effective supervision and leadership to the Shipping & Receiving team.
- Ability to safely handle, move, load, and unload materials and shipments while ensuring proper material-handling procedures are followed.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments, customer orders, vendor deliveries, and outside service requirements in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, resolve shipping and receiving issues, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory records.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Environment: Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor shop environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
Physical: Primary functions require physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to frequently climb on ladders or stairs; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe shoes and safety glasses, must be worn at all times while in the shop.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
All employees are to be indoctrinated in the QMS within sixty (60) days of hire.
