This role manages the development of all communication channels—proposals, web, campaigns, etc.—with content that attracts and converts new customers as well as engages and retains current customers.

A successful Marketing Manager can collaborate and partner with both internal and external teams to deliver a comprehensive marketing program that meets objectives and differentiates Fortis in the market. This requires an ability to plan and organize; be readily adaptable to changing conditions and demands; be confident in decisions yet able to relate to team concerns and interests; and demonstrate an ability to generate new ideas and build on those of others in a team environment.
  • Oversee management of marketing communications and graphic design using familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, social media, and communication along with analytics of current campaigns.

  • Work with vendors, such as marketing firms and agencies, promotional groups, graphic designers, printers, and industry associations to ensure timely completion of marketing projects.

  • Communicate marketing initiatives, programs and promotions to leadership and market sector teams on a regular basis.

  • Use analytical skills to identify and forecast trends and challenges.

  • Manage and execute key client and market sector events.

  • Support market-sector and lead-generation efforts.

  • Create and manage marketing campaigns.

  • Evaluate competitors and develop lessons learned and best practices in response.

  • Identify and communicate key competitive advantages.

  • Further develop the department regarding best practices, policies and procedures and performance standards in support of evolving company vision and goals.

  • Effectively manage the production and content development of key company deliverables such as RFQs and RFPs.

  • Manage department budgets and costs in support of goals, objectives, and needs.

  • Manage at least one team member, with responsibility for the hiring, development, performance management, and engagement of that individual.

  • Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to the achievement of the positions and team’s objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a marketing role with increasing responsibility, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications, or related degree program, or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong analytical and project management skills with sound professional judgement.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively.

  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Create Cloud.

  • Adept in media relations.

  • Budget management skills and proficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, and develop materials for varied campaigns, projects and programs including, but not limited to, proposals, interviews/presentations, promotional programs, networking events, and training materials.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Fortis policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated history of working with external partners (media, B2B, agencies) in support of strategic marketing effort.

  • Database utilization and development (Cosential, Deltek, or similar).
