Commercial Financial Analyst (Procurement & Operations)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Financial Analyst to support financial planning, cost control, procurement analysis, and operational performance within a fast-paced business environment. This role will provide valuable financial insights to improve purchasing decisions, inventory management, production efficiency, and overall business profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain standard costing and landed cost calculations for raw and packaging materials.
- Monitor market trends impacting material, freight, logistics, and related procurement costs.
- Analyse purchase price variances and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Conduct material usage and cost variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and actual performance.
- Partner with procurement and operations teams to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance profitability.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, slow-moving items, and stock-related provisions.
- Prepare inventory reports, stock turnover analysis, and related accounting entries.
- Support procurement-to-pay processes, including accounts payable controls and spend analysis.
- Review purchasing activity against plans and identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives across procurement and operations finance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and compliance reporting activities.
- Work closely with finance, procurement, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to improve decision-making and performance.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 4 years of finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Financial Analyst or similar role.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, supply chain, operations finance, or FMCG environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis, management accounting, costing, and profitability analysis.
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost control, and procurement finance.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, logistics, and supply chain processes.
- Experience using ERP systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to turn data into actionable business insights.
