Technical Training Manager - North Phoenix

Job Summary:

The Technical Training Manager at SCREEN SPE USA plays a critical role in developing and delivering technical training programs that support our field service engineers, installers, technical support personnel, engineering teams, and customers. This is a hands-on working manager position responsible for both direct training delivery and leadership of SCREEN's Technical Training Center. The successful candidate will manage a team of trainers while actively conducting instructor-led training, developing curriculum, supporting workforce development, and ensuring alignment with global training standards.  Salary Range:  $120,000 - $150,000

Key Responsibilities:

Training Strategy & Execution

• Design and implement technical training programs for SCREEN’s product lines, including wet cleaning, and other front-end process tools.
• Align training initiatives with global standards and collaborate with Japan HQ on content development and certification protocols.
• Develop training pathways for new hires and experienced engineers.
• Identify technical skill gaps and implement training plans to improve workforce readiness.
• Support workforce planning initiatives by ensuring training resources are aligned with business and customer demands.
• Maintain alignment between training programs, equipment releases, engineering changes, and field support requirements.

Curriculum Development

• Create and maintain training materials including manuals, SOPs, e-learning modules, and hands-on lab exercises.
• Partner with product engineering and applications teams to ensure training reflects current tool configurations, software updates, and process improvements.
• Integrate safety, compliance, and PPE protocols into all technical training.
• Develop practical hands-on exercises, troubleshooting labs, and qualification activities that simulate real-world service scenarios.
• Establish and maintain training standards, certification requirements, and proficiency assessments.
• Regularly review and update training materials to reflect lessons learned from the field, product upgrades, and customer feedback.

Training Delivery & Management

• Conduct classroom and field-based technical training at SCREEN facilities and customer sites.
• Maintain technical proficiency across assigned SCREEN product lines and serve as a subject matter expert for trainees and trainers.
• Lead by example through active participation in technical instruction and hands-on training delivery.
• Manage training schedules, instructor assignments, classroom utilization, certification tracking, and training records.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, trainee feedback, field performance metrics, certification outcomes, and other KPIs.

Training Center Operations

• Support day-to-day operation of SCREEN's Technical Training Center.
• Ensure training equipment, classrooms, labs, and instructional materials are maintained and available for scheduled training activities.
• Coordinate with Service, Engineering, and Global Training teams to support training center activities.
• Support training center utilization, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Field Service, Applications and Engineering to identify skill gaps and training needs.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Support teams to address customer training requirements.
• Partner with Japan headquarters and global subsidiaries to share best practices and maintain consistency across training programs.
• Support new product introductions by developing and deploying associated training materials and certification requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and SCREEN’s equipment portfolio (FC, SU, SS, LA series tools).
• Experience with instructional design and adult learning principles.
• Experience developing hands-on technical training and laboratory exercises.
• Demonstrated ability to teach complex technical topics to both new and experienced engineers.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively across technical, operational, and management audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple training programs, priorities, and schedules simultaneously.
• Proficiency with LMS platforms (Traincaster) and digital training tools.
• Familiarity with SEMI standards, and cleanroom protocols.
• Experience working with Japanese counterparts.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Semiconductor Technology, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment as a Field Service Engineer, Applications Engineer, Product Engineer, Technical Trainer, or similar technical role.
• 3+ years experience developing and delivering technical training programs.
• Prior leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience working in customer-facing environments preferred.
• Experience supporting SCREEN equipment strongly preferred.
