Senior Strategic Analyst

Job Description:

Systems Technology & Research, Inc. (STaR) is seeking a Senior Strategic Analyst in the Huntsville, AL area to support the Acquisition Management and Operations Division in the Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) Project Management Office (PMO). In this critical role, you will serve as a key strategic driver within the Division, with a focus on leading the strategy, execution, and industry engagement framework for the Department of War (DoW) Drone Marketplace. The Senior Strategic Analyst will also play an integral role across the Division by supporting a diverse portfolio of strategic engagements, enterprise initiatives, and cross-functional acquisition efforts. You will leverage extensive defense acquisition expertise to accelerate capability delivery, optimize procurement pathways, enhance stakeholder collaboration, and provide high-level analytical and advisory support to Division leadership. This opportunity is an in-person/on-site position.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree with four years of relevant work experience
• Strong proficiency in Army Acquisition
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of 10 U.S.C., FAR, DFARS, AFAR
• Possess an active DoW SECRET security clearance or the ability to obtain

 

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute innovative pathways-including Commercial Solutions Openings (CSOs), Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs), and agile procurement vehicles-to accelerate capability fielding and rapid prototyping.
• Drive vendor relationship management across the Drone Marketplace, overseeing capability reviews, solution onboarding, and project milestones.
• Support operational activities, solicitations, and industry partner engagements within specialized technology and defense consortia.
• Provide operational planning, portfolio mapping, and strategic advisory support for division-level initiatives in the UAS PMO.
• Lead high-visibility engagements across program offices, service-branch leadership, DoD agencies, interagency partners, and international stakeholders.
• Conduct continuous market research to identify dual-use technologies, commercial best practices, and innovative industry solutions.
• Author and standardize high-impact acquisition packages, Statements of Work (SOW), Statements of Objectives (SOO), and Requests for Solutions (RFS).
• Develop decision-ready briefings, white papers, and executive portfolio updates for Senior Executive Service (SES) and Flag/General Officer leadership.
