Brutto Americano is southern-inspired Italian dining at The Barnett Hotel. With a focus on Gulf seafood and fresh, hand-crafted pasta, Brutto Americano offers a contemporary take on Italian cuisine, perfectly attuned to the sophisticated tastes of the New Orleans dining scene.
The Host/Hostess is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming first impression for guests. This role manages seating, waitlists, guest flow, and communication with servers to ensure an efficient and enjoyable dining experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
Customer service experience strongly preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and guest-flow management abilities.
Professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
Basic knowledge of reservation systems and POS platforms preferred.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and create a positive first impression.
Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating charts to maximize service flow.
Escort guests to tables and communicate server sections effectively.
Answer phones, take messages, and provide basic restaurant information.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area.
Assist with menus, to-go orders, and guest requests as needed.
Monitor dining room activity and communicate with servers and management.
Follow company policies, safety standards, and service procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
