Overview:
The Credit Evaluation Manager is responsible for the credit risk management of the corporate and commercial loans portfolio. The successful candidate will also be leading and coaching credit and marketing personnel, to build a strong credit culture while balancing risk reward with a high degree of corporate governance and ensuring efficient delivery. This role will report to the Head, Wholesale Credit (Credit Evaluation Department)
Responsibilities:
The Credit Evaluation Manager holds responsibility for credit risk-taking in their portfolio / region, including
- Evaluating and approving of credit within discretionary powers and within SLA;
- Exercising general oversight over banks’ credit policies (local and overseas), procedures and controls extending to all of its credit risks including those arising (without limitation) from corporate banking, treasury, credit cards, personal banking, trade finance, securities processing and financial institutions;
- Managing credit risks to ensure minimal deterioration of credit to impaired High risk and IL;
- Reviewing accuracy of all mandate input field (i.e. CRR, Security, Facility Details and SIC codes) in Credit application;
- Providing guidance to business unit to improve credit quality/underwriting skills on the job & structured training to facilitate speedier credit assessment.
Additionally, the Credit Evaluation Manager will evaluate ESG assessments during the customer on-boarding process and annual reviews. This includes
- Reviewing / Approving the final ESG rating assigned by ARMs;
- Approving customer’s eligibility for better financing packages.
Skills & Experience We Are Looking For:
Education/Qualification
- Degree holder in Accounting/Finance/Economics
- 4 years and above of relevant credit and marketing skills supported by experienced business acumen
- CCP Accredited
