Job Profile Summary:
The Compensation Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and administering the compensation programs that support the organization’s business goals and objectives. This role oversees market analysis, salary structures, incentive programs, and compensation policies to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations. The Compensation Manager partners closely with HR leadership, finance, and business leaders to provide strategic compensation guidance and recommendations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and execute equitable base salary, short and long-term compensation
programs that drive overall business strategies, objectives, and results
• Partner with business leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of programs. Identify opportunities
to strengthen programs and their linkage to business results
• Function as subject matter expert and advisor for HR Business Partners and business
leadership on all compensation related matters
• Modeling, statistical analysis and costing of base, incentive, and stock programs for guidance
in impactful distribution of rewards. Provide recommendations to leadership.
• Direct, coordinate and ensure successful execution of compensation programs including,
base pay structure, merit, salary adjustments, promotions, market data/salary survey
submission, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives
• Conduct market pricing and benchmarking analyses to evaluate external competitiveness and
internal equity. Participate in industry leading salary surveys and monitor salary survey data
to ensure compensation objectives are achieved
• Responsible for the administration and oversight over technology platforms and vendors to
support compensation planning
• Provide support to the Director of Total Rewards in the development of materials for the
Compensation Committee
• Design and maintain salary structures, job architecture, and compensation frameworks
Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree; degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred
• 8+ year’s experience in employee and executive compensation field, preferably in the oil
and gas industry
Skills and Qualifications:
• WorldatWork Certified Compensation Professional or SHRM Certified Professional preferred
• Substantial business acumen, including an understanding of the drivers of success in the
exploration and production business
• Comprehensive understanding of the link between compensation and business strategies
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data
• Ability to engage, inspire and influence people
• Effective team player
• Strong interpersonal, communication and client-support skills, including presentations to
groups.
• Ability to cater communications to all levels of the organization
• Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities
• Proficient with MS Office, Payfactors, and HRIS systems
• Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to
base and incentive compensatio
