Senior Financial Accounting Analyst – Streaming
Job Description
Help oversee over $4B in annual worldwide financial expense accounting, reporting, disclosures, and internal controls across all TWDC streaming services related to:
- Partner subscription revenue share and bounty fee arrangements in support of contracts with the largest manufacturers of streaming devices in the world (e.g., Roku, Samsung, LG, Amazon, etc.).
- Partner subscription Premium add-on bundle and stand-alone arrangements (e.g., HBO Max, Crave, NFL+, etc.) in support of contracts with the largest 3rd party streaming services in the world
- The Hulu + LiveTV linear service, in conjunction with Fubo in support of contracts with the largest broadcasters of linear channels in the US (e.g., NBCU, Fox, ESPN, WBD, etc.).
Job Responsibilities
- Support the accounting function of our SVOD, Live TV, and Premium Add-On subscription offerings
- Assist in the ownership of the quarter-end close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Perform analytical reviews and variance analyses for key financial and operating metrics for submission to segment and corporate reporting
- Review distribution, bundling, and carriage agreements and operationalize contractual terms during the preparation of monthly/quarterly license fee, revenue share, and bounty fee accruals and monthly statement calculations
- Facilitate monthly/quarterly payments to 3rd party contracting partners
- Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with internal and external business partners
- Collaborate with Finance, Partnerships, Legal, and Tech teams to assist in implementing new business initiatives, support project deliverables, and provide financial reporting to support the needs of the business
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, including the use of AI and other efficiency tools (e.g., Alteryx and the like), and help drive the implementation to obtain efficiencies
- Maintain an effective internal control environment and perform updates to SOX process documentation as needed across the entire accounting cycle
- Support the annual financial statement audit as well as periodic internal audits and third-party contractual audits
- Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and business initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 3+ years relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Detail oriented while not losing sight of the big picture
- Strong working knowledge of PC-based software applications, including Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting/auditing experience
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Industry experience in media and/or entertainment
- Experience with SAP financials
