Description

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion under the direction and
supervision of the Director in a strong team setting, the Receptionist will assist with smooth,
efficient, and organized office operations including filing and managing all mail, emails,
phone calls, and front desk responsibilities, including meeting and directing all persons
entering the Center.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Correspond and interact as the first point of contact with faculty, administration, and the public.

2. As assigned, coordinate and track ProDev activities and scheduling, including: Course entry; Sending reminders to presenters and enrolled faculty; Creating course rosters; Inputting attendance; Periodic review of inactivity and clean-up.

3. Assist in organization and hospitality of Center events and services, including room reservations and meetings.

4. Assist with all promotions, marketing of events, and special activities.

5. Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

A four-year college degree, previous office experience, strong working knowledge of Office Suite, and experience in Higher Education preferred. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly required to lift 10 or fewer pounds. If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel.  Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Pay Range

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.


The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.

 

 

$15.38 - $18.27
