Key Responsibilities:
- Lead execution of complex automation capital projects from concept through startup
- Develop project Statements of Work (SOWs) with leveraged engineering teams
- Lead basic data development with stakeholders (ops, process, quality) to define equipment and system requirements
- Integrate multi-disciplinary systems including robotics, vision inspection, web-handling, and contamination control systems
- Coordinate installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup activities
- Act as primary site interface to global automation teams; support design reviews and implementation alignment
- Lead change qualification and validation activities, including MOC, risk assessments, and change review processes
- Ensure all changes meet customer, quality, and regulatory requirements with minimal production disruption
- Ensure compliance with machine safety, EHS, and internal standards
- Position is site-based in Newark, DE, with periodic travel (<15%) to global manufacturing sites and vendor locations for FAT/SAT and project support
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in automation, equipment engineering, or capital project execution in manufacturing
- Proven experience leading complex automation system integration and deployment
- Strong background integrating mechanical systems, PLC-based controls (A-B, Siemens, Mitsubishi), and robotics (ABB, KUKA)
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC) and structured change review processes
- Experience leading equipment qualification, validation, and customer-sensitive implementations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with robotic pick-and-place systems (material handling, packaging, boxing)
- Experience deploying machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
- Familiarity with web-handling/roll-to-roll manufacturing and inspection systems (ISRA)
- Experience integrating robotics, vision, and custom equipment into automated production cells
- Experience with FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup of complex equipment
- Experience working within a leveraged/global engineering model
- Background in semiconductor, advanced materials, or high-precision manufacturing environments
- Experience with 3D Design (SolidWorks) and/or Electrical Design software packages (AutoCAD)
