Description
The hiring salary for this position is $52,874 - $55,536 annually; full salary range for this position is $52,874 - $91,042 annually.
- Orders all inventory/non-inventory parts, supplies, fluids, shop equipment, tires, tool, fuel and oil, and safety equipment for Vehicle Maintenance Division;
- Receives inventory/non-inventory items and ensures correct quantities;
- Reviews vehicle maintenance job orders to ensure accuracy and attaches invoices for payment;
- Maintains physical inventory location system, monitors inventory and performs yearly audits;
- Maintains cleanliness in the parts/inventory, fluid and tire area and notifies supervisor of potentially hazardous areas;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- May operate a County vehicle.
- Ability to gain working knowledge of St. Mary’s County Government policies and procedures;
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and members of the public;
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records;
- Basic math skills;
- Ability to operate a computer.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
- Two years or more of job-related experience;
- Valid Maryland Drivers license;
- Or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Must successfully pass background investigation with favorable results;
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Work requires occasional strenuous effort. For example, handling of moderately heavy boxes, moderately heavy tools, equipment, or materials of 30 to 60 pounds.
The work involves risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines; working with irritant chemicals, etc. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields; may require working in adverse weather conditions.
