Responsibilities

As an Infrastructure Engineer at MV Transportation, Inc, you will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining our cloud and on-prem infrastructure to ensure the scalability, security, and performance of our applications and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilizing your expertise in cloud technologies to enhance our overall IT infrastructure.

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Accountable to meet or exceed performance metrics (KPIs) for IT Operations and infrastructure 
• Perform advanced build, administration, and support of MV Transportation’s key AWS and Azure cloud technologies 
• Design and deploy infrastructure compute resources utilizing the AWS stack (Including EC2, Route53, S3, Lambda, etc.) to build scalable, secure, and robust cloud solutions
• Design, deploy and administer Microsoft Windows server OS versions (2016 through 2025) and/or Azure compute services
• Experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Entra and Microsoft AD/Domain administration
• Experience implementing and supporting Microsoft M365 administration (Outlook/Exchange, Sharepoint, Teams)
• Experience implementing, supporting Microsoft Remote Desktop services web environment
• Create and implement automation processes and standards for Microsoft and AWS cloud services
• Ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and security standards
• Collaborate with team members to improve the company’s engineering tools, systems and procedures, and data security
• Develop and maintain design and troubleshooting documentation
• Participate in the creation of new policies and procedures for cloud service use and compliance
• Monitor infrastructure, systems operations, and critical application services. Provide reporting and metrics
• Troubleshoot complex systems issues and work with third party resources as required 
• Adhere to standards across IT Operations and contribute to continual improvement in our technical support and delivery 
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects, manage time, and work with other staff members, as well as departments on critical projects 
• Soft skills: excellent problem solving, communication, sense of urgency, and possess great customer service skills 
• Create and maintain technical documentation as required 
• Belongs to an on-call rotation which includes off-hour duties 
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Metrics to Achieve:

• Timely management of daily tickets
• 100% daily backup completions. Triaged, resolved, and documented upon failure
• 100% availability of infrastructure
• 100% Windows Server security patching compliance

Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

• Three (3)+ years of experience with cloud engineering in AWS- building out infrastructure and supporting it using industry best practices
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources
• Implement and maintain version control for infrastructure code to ensure consistency and traceability
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with cloud services
• Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and issues
• Strong capability in troubleshooting cloud (host and network) and physical server issues for some on-premises infrastructure – utilizing the industry-standard tools for investigation and resolution
• Experience with server back-ups for both cloud and on-prem infrastructures
• Perform, build, administer, and support all MV Transportation’s Infrastructure technologies
• Troubleshoot complex systems issues, incidents, and work with third party resources as required
• Two (2)+ years of experience with Exchange on-prem and Azure Active Directory
• Experience troubleshooting Sharepoint, Teams and OneDrive issues
• Manage multiple projects, manage time, and work with other staff members, as well as departments on critical projects
• Adhere to industry standards across IT Operations and contribute to continual improvement in our technical support and delivery
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Participate in on-call rotation which includes outside office hours
• Special projects and other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant experience

Preferred Level Experience:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Industry certifications: MCSA, MCITP, AWS certified Associate 
• Experience working in large scale, enterprise environments with enterprise controls 
• Strong proficiency in scripting and automation
• VMWare experience
