The Opportunity:  The HR Generalist will play a critical role in delivering a seamless employee experience across key moments of the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role serves as the first point of contact for many employee needs while owning essential HR operational processes including onboarding, accommodations administration, non-exempt timekeeping support, policy management, employment verifications, and I-9 compliance. 

The ideal candidate is proactive and detail-oriented, exceling at providing exceptional employee support while managing critical HR processes with accuracy and discretion. They have a problem-solving mindset and thrive in a fast-paced environment – they have the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize competing needs. 

How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries, managing the HR inbox and delivering timely, high-quality support while building trusted relationships across the organization. 
  • Coordinate and administer onboarding activities, creating a seamless and engaging new hire experience through successful integration into the organization.  
  • Ensure compliance with all I-9 and new hire documentation requirements.
  • Administer employee accommodation requests, including intake, documentation, case tracking, and coordination with HR leadership throughout the interactive process.  
  • Support non-exempt timekeeping processes, including audits, corrections, and employee and manager inquiries to ensure accuracy and compliance.  
  • Process employment verification requests accurately and efficiently while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.  
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.  
  • Support the administration, communication, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content, ensuring employees have access to current and accurate information.  
  • Manage and enhance the HR Knowledge Base (HRKB), ensuring employees have access to accurate, up-to-date resources while identifying opportunities to improve self-service and reduce recurring questions.
  • Drive operational excellence by implementing process improvements that enhance the employee experience, strengthen compliance, improve scalability, and increase team efficiency. 

 How your role expectations will progress as an HR Generalistin the first 30, 90, and 180 days: 

30 days in 

  • Complete new hire orientation, gaining the resources you need to be successful. 
  • Learn how ticket marketplaces operate and how you’ll contribute to providing great experiences for our customers.
  • Acclimate to team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values.
  • Develop a strong understanding of HR systems, processes, and policies, including onboarding, accommodations, timekeeping, employment verifications, and employee self-service resources.
  • Begin supporting employee needs through the HR inbox and assist with onboarding administration, including I-9 compliance and new hire documentation. 
  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across HR, People Operations, Recruiting, Employee Engagement, and Payroll teams, along with the broader organization. 

90 days in 

  • Contribute to the team's philosophies, processes, and tools to support business goals and drive operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships that support collaboration and successful execution of team priorities.
  • Independently manage routine employee inquiries, HR inbox administration, onboarding activities, and employment verification requests.  
  • Administer accommodation requests and support non-exempt timekeeping processes with minimal oversight while ensuring compliance and accuracy.  
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR resources, self-service tools, and operational processes to enhance the employee experience and team efficiency. 

180 days in  

  • Apply methods to execute individual tasks that positively impact the team. 
  • Play an active role in continued learnings to advance skill sets necessary for team goals.
  • Serve as a trusted HR resource by independently managing onboarding, employee support, accommodations administration, timekeeping inquiries, and other core HR operations.
  • Drive improvements to HR processes, knowledge management resources, and employee self-service tools that enhance efficiency, scalability, and the overall employee experience.
  • Partner effectively with HR, People Operations, Recruiting, Employee Engagement, Payroll, and business leaders to deliver consistent, compliant, and high-quality support across the employee lifecycle. 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • Strong customer service orientation with a passion for providing an exceptional employee experience.  
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes, and policies quickly.
  • Experience supporting employee-facing administrative processes, customer service, HR, or internship programs preferred.

Vivid Seats Pay Transparency Disclaimer: Full time offers from Vivid Seats include annual bonus incentives; FLEX PTO; mental health days; medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401K matching; quarterly credits and discounts for attending live events; and a variety of additional workplace perks. The typical starting salary within the full salary range for this position can range. Factors which may affect starting salary include geographic market, relevant skills/experience, education, and other qualifications.

 Salary: $65,000-$80,000

Location: Chicago, IL
